The black sunflower seed hides the sunflower heart below its dark shell. Birds such as the tit species enjoy breaking these open to get the tasty heart within. The black sunflower seed has a naturally high oil content, as well as protein and other vitamins and minerals. Black sunflower seeds provide wild birds with valuable fats and energy. 

How To Feed

These seeds can be fed from most Seed Feeders and also from Sunflower Hearts Feeders.
