Bees really need our help - 97% of native British Wildflower habitat has been lost since World War 2. Bees are crucial to our ecosystem, so the Bee Bomb is the perfect way to support them and help to restore the lost wildflower habitats.
Bees and butterflies need wildflower habitats, meaning the loss of these habitats is a serious problem. Biodiversity is crucial for many reasons and wildflowers are crucial to biodiversity.
Each Bee Bomb contains 18 different species of beautiful wildflowers, all native to Britain and Perfect for Pollinators (confirmed by the RHS). The bomb will cover 2 square metres of your garden.
Bee Bombs are so easy to use, they can be scattered straight onto the ground during any time of the year. Bee Bombs just need plenty of water and sun. Handmade, the Bee Bomb consists of seeds mixed with clay powder and locally sourced unfortified soil. The clay supports and protects the seeds while they germinate and spreads them as they grow and break down under watering.
Wildflowers are slow growing but hardy, so it's best to plant them onto soil rather than grass as perennial weeds and grass can overpower the wildflowers during the early stages. Some will flower in the first year, but it is likely that most will flourish in the second year.
Handmade in Dorset and presented in beautiful sustainable packaging, these Bee Bombs make the perfect gift.
Each bee bomb will contain seeds from the following -
- Common Knapweed
- Wild Carrot
- Lady's Bedstraw
- Rough Hawkbit
- Oxeye Daisy
- Ribwort Plantain
- Self Heal
- Corn Marigold
- Yellow Rattle
- Common Sorrel
- Salad Burnet
- White Campion
- Red Campion
