Create a safe haven for garden birds with the Nuttery squirrel proof feeders, their clever cages allow your garden birds in but keep those unwanted guests out! Predator proof they prevent adult Squirrels*, Jackdaws, Magpies, Pigeons and other large birds from getting to the treats.

The Nuttery Original Ocean Green Squirrel Proof Nut Feeder has been designed based on the traditional parrot cage which will make a great addition to your garden. With a squirrel proof cage, the peanuts inside can only be reached by your small garden birds as the steel bars prevent access to adult squirrels and large birds.

Made from high quality metal, and finished in a stylish ocean green, this peanut feeder features a domed base to help with peanut flow within the feeder, a sturdy handle which is ideal for using to hang up this feeder from a branch or hook, and a quick release lid for easy filling.

This classic bird feeder is also easy to disassemble and reassemble which allows you to properly clean out this feeder regularly, to ensure it remains safe for garden birds to feed from.

*A Note On Juvenile Squirrels

The Nuttery feeders can only protect against adult grey squirrels and large adult birds such as magpies, crows rooks etc, which ultimately do the most damage.  Some birds, such as a woodpecker, wont fit through the bars but could manage to get their beaks inside and access the food.

There is always a chance than an adolescent young squirrel could squeeze into the bars and access the feeder.  The young squirrels look very similar to adults but are actually far fluffier making them much more flexible!  Squirrels are normally born in March, April, July and August so there may well be a risk around these months. This is short term issue and will be the problem of any feeder that has researched the necessary bar spacing required.  You may also find that adolescent jackdaws, crows and pigeons may find their way in.  The bars on these feeders cannot be made smaller to protect from adolescent or red squirrels as this would pose a risk to the birds.

If squirrels do manage to get into the feeders to prevent damage to the plastic tubes a a dash of chilli flakes mixed in with the nuts or seeds will have no effect on the birds at all but will deter the squirrels.

Guaranteed for 10 years.

Dimensions: Height: 34 cm x Diameter: 17 cm.

Capacity 360g

Please note the feeder is not supplied with a wall bracket.

We have had a few feeders over the years but the squirrels have always found a way around deterrents. After a month no sight of this feeder being defeated. (Posted on 15/08/2019)
