The robust feeder is made from high quality, naturally durable FSC managed timbers with a strong stainless-steel hinge to resist corrosion, resulting in the requirement of very little maintenance.

The generous and easy to clean hopper can be filled with peanuts, mixed nuts or our range of squirrel food and has a clear plastic screen for both you, and the squirrels, to see the amount of food remaining. Once the squirrels set their sights on the delicious goods on offer, they’ll soon figure out how to lift the lid and reach inside. 

We strongly suggest topping up and cleaning the feeder of any mouldy nuts on a regular basis. This prevents the chances of bacteria building up. Maintenece: 

There is little to no maintenence required for this feeder. If wood stains are used, they should be water-based to minimise toxicity. Apply light oil to the hinge if necessary. It is normal for the wood to move in damp or harsh weather conditions.

Siting: 

For squirrels to get the best use out of this feeder, it's best to locate well away from any bird feeders on a tree, fence or any sturdy object at the height of roughly 1.5-2m. Preferably in a convenient re-filling and viewing position to ensure you can watch the squirrels’ antics for maximum entertainment.
