Wildlife World Hedgehog Dome Home

This shelter is spacious and can protect a family of Hedgehogs, such as a monther and her hoglets, from the various threats they face on a day-to-day basis. Hedgehogs need to seek refuge from predators and this attractive Dome Home from Wildlife World is much safer than a compost heap or bonfire, which is where a Hedgehod will usually seek. 

The small entrance deters predators, such as bedgers and dogs and can be used for long hibernation periods when additional brushwood cover is provided during Winter for insulation. 

The Dome Home is suitable for Hedgehog use on a daily basis, however is particularly beneficial during:

• Hibernation - Approximaely November - April dependant upon temperature
• Breeding Season - Mating in May (hoglets may nest until June/July)
• Summer - Approxmiately July - September

Siting: 

Find a quiet position out of the prevailing wind in an area with some nearby vegetation cover (areas of garden with slugs to provide a natural food source are ideal). To ensure the security and insulation of the Dome Home, please cover with twigs, dry leaves and brushwood (+50mm thick) during Winter hibernation. We also recommend spreading some leaves/short grass inside the Dome Home. If there are predatory badgers or dogs around, the Dome Home may be firmly anchored using 2 - 4 tent pegs hooked over the metal frame and driven into the ground. 

Maintenance: 

During Winter, all Wildlife products should be checked annually for damages, loose elements and cleanliness.

Please note, when feeding Hedgehogs, always leave a bowl of fresh water available.
