£12.99Styled on classic New England beach huts, this Wildlife World Nest Box features a real shingle roof, lapboard sides and a silvered hole protector to make a charming accessory that will look great in your garden. Made from FSC-certified timber, this nest box is perfect for attracting small birds including blue tits, coal tits and marsh tits.
Siting:
Site the New England Nest Box on a tree, wall or garden fitting at least 1.5m – 2.5m above the ground in a place where cats and predators cannot access it, facing East.
Nesting is most likely to occur during April and May, so take special care not to disturb the nest box during this time as any intervention may result in the parent birds' eggs or young being abandoned.
Maintenance:
The nest boxes may be painted annually with matching water-based paints to maintain its appearance. The nest box may be cleaned out of any old nesting material and disinfected outside of the breeding season (Sept to Feb). To open, simply swing the brass catch to the upright position and pivot the nest box side, by opening at the bottom.
