A chick will survive solely off its yolk sac for the first 24 hours as it is a source of vital nutrients and protective antibodies for the chick. Following this, Chick Crumbs should then be introduced to encourage taking food.
The Chick Crumbs are an ideal size for day old chicks, also supporting good feather formation and a strong frame. This feed also contains supplementary vitamins and minerals for healthy development and the overall health of chicks.
This high-quality complete feed is suitable for feeding growing Chickens, Hens, Ducks and Geese.
Feeding advice:
- Feed up to 6-8 weeks, following on to Poultry Growers Pellets
- Always ensure a clean, fresh supply of drinking water
- Feeders should always be kept clean and filled with fresh feed
- Whole grain feeds can be fed either with an appropriate feeder or used as a scratch feed by scattering in the feeding area
- Only leave 1-2 days worth of Chick Crumbs in their feeding area at a time.
- One chick will usually eat approximately 1.5kg over the course of five weeks
- Replace any wet or old food immediately.
It is essential to provide insoluble grit as Chicks have not developed any teeth, they require flint grit to properly chew, digest and break down the fibre in their food.
Always keep utensils, feeders, drinkers and houses clean and fresh.
Please note, we recommed storing in a cool dry place. Best consumed within 6 months of the date of manufacture.
