CJ Wildlife Eco-Plate Hedgehog House

The Eco-Plate Hedgehog House from CJ Wildlife is a must have for any hedgehog. Treat your spikey garden residents to their very own palace as this large hedgehog home features a 36cm long entrance tunnel which has been hidden inside this Eco-friendly structure and acts as an internal predator baffle because other, larger animals will be unable to locate the resting hedgehog inside.

This Hedgehog house has been designed in collaboration with the Dutch Hedgehog Protection Society, and has been made from Eco-plate which is a similar material to plywood but instead has been made from recycled car seats and is both durable and weather resistant. This hedgehog home also comes with ventilation holes and an overhanging roof to help prevent rain from entering into the hedgehog area and also to stop the build up of condensation.

To attract hedgehogs to this environmentally friendly house, part fill the main area with dried leaves to make this wooden building more habitable for these friendly garden visitors. Then place in a quiet corner of your garden - out of direct sunlight and prevailing winds - and cover with leaves or soil to increase the chances of hedgehogs paying their new, purpose built home a visit as hedgehogs normally take shelter under hedges and sheds due to not feeling safe in open space.

The roof of this hedgehog hut can be easily removed for cleaning, however do not attempt to clean if hedgehogs are inside as you could disturb or wake them - especially during hibernation season between November and March as they will not survive the cold winter months if woken too early.
