- Split peanuts seem to be very well received by the copious number of birds consuming this product from my TEN bird feeders, in fact I spend more on their food than I do on my own Supermarket shopping !!!!!!!

- I cannot comment a lot on this Henry Bell Peanut feeder as I have just put it out for the birds and so far I haven’t seen any birds go onto it. Could be because it is a new feeder but the feeder is good quality, well made and value for money.

- Good quality product, especially at the price. Similar ones in the local garden centre were twice as much. The squirrel cage seems to be working well, as the nuts are not disappearing too fast.

£65.45Nature's Market Squirrel Guard Nut Feeder. This is an inexpensive yet sturdy peanut feeder.
The green powder coated cage is designed to deter squirrels from getting to the peanuts inside the feeder, ensuring the food you put out is only eaten by your garden birds.
Dimensions: W 15 cm x D 15 cm x H 23 cm*A Note On Juvenile Squirrels
The feeders can only protect against adult grey squirrels. Some birds, such as a woodpecker, wont fit through the bars but could manage to get their beaks inside and access the food.
There is always a chance than an adolescent young squirrel could squeeze into the bars and access the feeder. The young squirrels look very similar to adults but are actually far fluffier making them much more flexible! Squirrels are normally born in March, April, July and August so there may well be a risk around these months. This is short term issue and will be the problem of any feeder that has researched the necessary bar spacing required. You may also find that jackdaws, crows and pigeons may find their way in. The bars on these feeders cannot be made smaller to protect from adolescent or red squirrels as this would pose a risk to the birds.
If squirrels do manage to get into the feeders to prevent damage to the plastic tubes a a dash of chilli flakes mixed in with the nuts or seeds will have no effect on the birds at all but will deter the squirrels.
