Premium Sunflower Heart Kernels in Paper Bags
High in energy, sunflower hearts for wild birds are a valuable and nutritious seed to have in any garden. These hearts are packed in paper packaging.
Also available in:
2kg - 28kg (non-paper bags)Sunflower Hearts for Birds
Our Best Selling Hearts, now in paper bags for easy recycling with your normal household rubbish.
Sunflower hearts are very good for birds, they're nutiricous and a firm favourite of garden birds in the UK. They're easy for birds to eat and because the seeds have had their husks removed, the birds will eat the whole seed leaving very little mess around your feeders.
When To Feed
Sunflower Hearts can be fed to birds all year round. During spring when younger birds are feeding, you may wish to switch to Sunflower Chips which are a bit easier for the fledglings to eat. During the colder winter months, you could supplement with some Suet Pellets to help provide birds with the energy they need. Another great alternative is our ready mixed Chips, Granules and Pellets mix.
Suitable Feeders
Sunflower Hearts can be fed from a range of feeders. The most suitable feeders are Sunflower Heart Feeders, but Seed Feeders are also a great choice. You could also feed them from Bird Table or Ground Feeders. Don't forget you may need a Bird Feeding Station to hang your feeders from.
Birds You Might Attract
Sunflower Hearts are loved by many birds. Here's just some of the birds you might attract to your garden if you feed them: Blackbird, Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Coal Tit, Collared Dove, Dunnock, Goldfinch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Great Tit, Greenfinch, House Sparrow, Long-Tailed Tit, Nuthatch, Robin, Starling, Wood Pigeon, Marsh Tits, Bullfinches.
Storing Your Sunflower Hearts
We recommend storing your bird food in an airtight container in a cool dry place. This helps to keep it fresh for as long as possible. The bags are not designed for long term storage.
Product Notes
- Paper bags can split in transit and we take no liability for this happening.
- The appearance of our Sunflower Hearts can vary depending on the time of year and harvest conditions. During poorer harvests, you might notice the size of the hearts to be a little smaller than previous orders, or there may be a slightly higher percentage of chips. This has no impact on the nutrition for your birds.
- Premium Sunflower Hearts for wild garden birds are also known as Premium Sunflower Kernels and Premium Sunflower Seeds.
- Bird Foods are not fit for human consumption.
