- Looks amazing so hard to open! - So it looks beautiful & stops fat slabs disintegrating in rain or extreme heat...BUT...pliers are needed to move the metal clip holding the base which then you have a bit of a wrestle with to open enough to get the bloomin

- It works really well, disinfects all bird dishes nicely and the best thing is, birds never notice it. Just how it should be.
£7.99The Squirrel Resistant Fat Ball Feeder from CJ Wildlife has been designed with a predator proof guardian to keep out unwanted squirrels and large birds (including Crows, Starlings and Pigeons). Your smaller feathered friends can feed safely knowing that no larger birds are going to arrive and try take their tasty suet treats.
Fill this large capacity feeder with up to 10 suet fat balls or 1 suet block - whichever is more popular in your garden. This suet bird feeder is easy to fill by lifting up the feeders lid, before securely closing again ready for this heavy duty bird feeder to be hung up from a branch, hook or bird feeding station.
This fat ball feeder with guardian requires fewer refills thanks to its large holding capacity - which also means fewer trips outside in the cold rain to keep your garden birds well fed. To make certain that your bird feeder remains safe and hygienic for your feathered friends, you should clean out approximately every 2 months to avoid any diseases accumulating before refilling ready to continue offering a safe spot for smaller wild birds to feed.
Your garden visitors can easily access this metal suet cake feeder through the mesh guardian, and once inside there is plenty of room (more than the average cage feeder) for your garden birds to have a perch, rest or feed in a place where they are unreachable by squirrels.
Dimensions: Height: 26 x Diameter: 31 cm.
*A Note On Squirrel Protection*
This feeder can only protect against adult grey squirrels and large adult birds. Some birds may not fit through the bars but could manage to get their head into the feeder. Adolescent young squirrels could squeeze into the feeder due to their flexibility. The young squirrels look very similar to adults. This is a temporary seasonal issue.
You may also find that adolescent jackdaws, crows and pigeons may find their way in. The bars on these feeders cannot be made smaller to protect from adolescent or red squirrels as this would pose a risk to the birds.
A deterrent of chilli flakes mixed in with the nuts or seeds will deter the squirrels whilst being completely harmless to the birds.

Plus fat balls are so popular I was finding my smaller feeders sometimes needed refilling twice a day. This feeder has far greater capacity (if you pile them right up above the top of the inner container you could probably squeeze 15 in!) and it has effectively flummoxed the large birds. It doesnÔÇÖt stop starlings however ÔÇô whilst they canÔÇÖt get in they can reach through to the food ÔÇô more difficult for them than on my previous feeders though so still plenty for the small birds. My only real niggle is that itÔÇÖs quite fiddly to open and close and it will be easy to lose the metal clip that holds it together especially if you drop it in long grass! Just be aware of that though and youÔÇÖll be ok. Overall IÔÇÖm very pleased with it. Incidentally ÔÇô sparrows love it as they can perch comfortably inside it on the base rather than wasting energy clinging to the frame.LOAD MORE REVIEWSAll orders over £25 are delivered FREE of charge.
