On placing an order with us, your postal address details will be added to a mailing list to receive future catalogues. Your privacy is respected and your details will not be shared or sold to any other companies. If you provide us with your email address whilst ordering, this will be used for communications relating to your order only, unless you confirm that you wish to be added to our newsletter subscriber list. Please notify us in writing to the above address or email help@gardenwildlifedirect.co.uk or call 01772440242 if you wish to be removed from our mailing list.


Product Pricing and Availability

- All products are subject to availability.

- Prices are applicable in the United Kingdom only and are inclusive of VAT where appropriate.

- As part of our policy of continuous product development, all specifications, descriptions, images, prices and availability may be subject to change at any time without prior notification.

- Although we do our utmost to ensure that information is correct there may be times when errors occur and we provide no guarantee as to the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any of the information on this website including pricing (E&OE).

- Weights and dimensions are approximate.

- We pack some sizes of bag including our 5kg bags at the point of purchase. Unfortunately this can sometimes add an extra to the time taken to dispatch your order.

- We endeavor to get the weights for our products as close as possible but there can sometimes be a small variance (particularly with products such as fat balls where one ball can make quite a bit of difference).

- Fat balls are sold by weight, with approximate numbers for your convenience. As such, the number may be slightly more or less than the advertised number.


Orders and Payments

- We accept payment by most major credit and debit cards, as well as via PayPal. Payment will be taken from your account at the time of ordering.

- All credit/debit card payments are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.

- We reserve the right to cancel any order and refund monies paid via the payment used. If you payment method is no longer valid then we will contact you and make alternative arrangements.

- Your statutory rights are not affected.

- Orders cannot be amended after you have paid. Including but not limited to; adding to your order, or adding discount codes or reward points afterwards.


Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)

- We offer several options at the checkout which can be used to spread the cost of your order over a period of time. The options available will vary depending on the service you choose and what is available to you. It is the BNPL providers decision on whether they offer you their services, we have no control over their decision. Not all methods may be available at once.

- Refunds for an order bought using a BNPL provider are exactly the same as standard orders. If it's a part refund and you still have a remaining balance left to pay, then your payments will be adjusted. If its a full refund then any future payments will be cancelled.

- Buy Now Pay Later is available via PayPal's 'Pay-in-3' option. Just check out and select to pay with PayPal, then if the funding choice is available to you, select it in the PayPal popup. Please refer to PayPal's guidance for their terms and conditions of use and what this could mean to you (e.g. in terms of your credit report).

- Klarna is available at the checkout (minimum purchase applies). Klarna's Pay in 3 instalments Pay in 30 days credit agreements are not regulated by the FCA. Use of these and any missed payments may affect your ability to obtain credit from Klarna and other lenders. 18+ only, UK residents only. Subject to status. T&Cs apply. - ClearPay (also known as AfterPay) is available at the checkout. Please use ClearPay responsibly. ClearPay lends you a fixed amount of credit so you can pay for your purchase over 4 instalments, due every 2 weeks. You must be 18+ and a permanent UK resident (excl Channel Islands). T&Cs and other eligibility criteria apply. Ensure you can make repayments on time. ClearPay charges a £6 late fee for each late instalment and a further £6 if it’s still unpaid 7 days later. Late fees are capped at £6 for orders under £24 and the lower of £36 or 25% of the order value for orders over £24. Missed payments may affect your ability to use ClearPay in the future and they may pass unpaid debt to a debt collection agency. Deliveries and Returns

- Should your order be delayed for any reason, we will do our best to contact you as soon as we become aware.

- Your order will be carefully packed and despatched within the timeframe specified on your order confirmation.

- All delivery times refer to working days. This does not include weekends or bank holidays.

- Unfortunately, we are unable to deliver to PO Box numbers.

- It is your responsibility to make sure your address and post code is correct at the time of ordering.

- If your order is delivered to an incorrect address due to you incorrectly entering your address (no matter how small the error), we can arrange for the items to be collected and re-delivered at a small cost to you.

- We cannot be held liable for incorrectly provided recipient's details.

- Any delivery offers (such as 'Free Express') exclude heavy orders and made to order products (e.g. stone bird baths).

- Please see our delivery information page for up to date information on our delivery options.

- Please refer to our returns policy and our delivery policy for further information.

- Any delivery offers (such as 'Free Express') exclude heavy orders, made to order products (e.g. stone bird baths) and orders falling outside of our typical delivery offer (e.g. deliveries under £25 would not typically get free express in a promotion unless specifically stated otherwise).

- DPD will make a maximum of two delivery attempts before returning the order back to us, if the order is then sent back to us there will be a £7.50 charge for the failed delivery attempt. The DPD app offers a host of leave safe and diversion options for you to use if you are unable to be home for your delivery.

- Business Addresses – DPD may deliver outside of the standard working hours, please bear this in mind if delivering to a business address. There will be a £7.50 charge if, after two failed delivery attempts, the order is sent back to us.



We run competitions on our website, social media channels, blogs and through our emails periodically. The below terms and conditions set out your rights when you participate:

- All prizes are as stated, non-transferable, cannot be exchanged and have no cash value.

- If you send us your photos for any reason (not just competitions), you agree that we may use these in our marketing materials. Where appropriate and at our discretion, we will give credit to the photographer.

- Winners have 30 days to claim their prize from when we first attempt contact. We will do our utmost to contact the winners using the details provided.

- If the winner does not come forward to collect their prize within 30 days, we reserve the right to contact the next runner up, or withdraw the prize completely. If you are contacted and do not make arrangements with us to collect your prize before the 30 days are up you lose your right to any prize.

- While we do not anticipate needing to, we reserve the right to alter or withdraw the prize at any time.

- The closing date is stated on each competition. Any entries received after that date will not count.

- No purchase is necessary (unless stated otherwise - e.g. place an order for your chance to win).

- Competitions are open to UK residents only aged 18 or over (unless stated otherwise, e.g. kids colouring competitions).

- Prizes are shipped out as quickly as possible, but may take up to 28 days to arrive.

- By entering any of our competitions, you agree to the storing of your information inline with the competition and that we may use your details to contact you should you win. Where stated we may also use your details for marketing purposes.

- Unless stated otherwise, you can only enter each competition once.

- Please refer to the marketing material for any additional terms and conditions relating to that competition (e.g. if its a competition, check the email for additional terms).

- We reserve the right to withhold prizes in extreme circumstances, although we will do our best to avoid this (for example, but not limited to if an entrant/customer is found to have abused the process or cheated)


Discounts and Promotional Offers

- All discounts are as specified in the marketing material associated with them. Refer to this page for accompanying conditions.

- To redeem discounts using a promotional code, the discount code must be entered into your order or quoted over the phone at the time of purchase (at the basket stage). Discounts cannot be applied retrospectively after you have placed an order and it is the customers responsibility to ensure this has applied to an order.

- If you successfully add a discount voucher to your order, then alter your order, you may lose your code. i.e. if your amended order no longer qualifies for the discount. Please make sure you double check BEFORE placing your order

- Promotional offers/discount codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless specified otherwise on the marketing material. If you have multiple discount codes, it is up to you which one you want to use. You cannot use more than one at once.

- We reserve the right to withdraw any offer at any time, although we will try and avoid this

- We reserve the right to alter the discount or gift at any time. Again we will try and avoid this if we can.

- All discount codes are single use unless we specifically specified otherwise.

- We reserve the right to prevent certain offers from being used alongside other offers. For example discount codes cannot be used with refer a friend or reward points and some products are excluded.

- All offers have a specified time frame on them. We cannot accept offer codes after the expiration time - even just a few minutes past.

- Many 3rd party websites claim to offer discount codes for our site. Only official codes from Garden Wildlife Direct are valid on our sites, we will not accept any codes found to be available on 3rd party websites and reserve the right to withdraw these codes immediately if a code is leaked to a 3rd party site.

- For promotions requiring a minimum spend, e.g. 'spend over £100 for a free gift', the £100 refers to the amount you actually pay. Not the amount before any other discounts are applied.

- Reward points cannot be used alongside discount codes.

- Any delivery offers (such as 'Free Express') exclude heavy orders, large items (e.g. furniture) and made to order products (e.g. stone bird baths).

- We take every precaution to maintain our promotions for the stated period of time, however on occassion we may need to revoke a discount before it's expiry date. For example - in situations out of our control that could have an adverse effect on the business.

- Quantity based promotions (e.g. x% off 2 or more items) apply to individual items only. A bundled products made up of other products still counts as 1 item.

- We reserve the right to prevent certain offers from being used alongside other offers to prevent code stacking and any other situation where we would lose money. For example discount codes cannot be used with refer a friend or reward points.

- Certain products are excluded from discounts and/or reward points (both earning and spending of reward points). These include, but are not limited to; Sunflower Hearts (20kg, 25kg, 25.1kg & 50.2kg), Borderstone Bird Baths, Eastern Connection Bird Baths, gift cards, furniture and some sale products. For example we sometimes heavily discount our sunflower hearts, but the use of a discount code or reward points on them would mean we lose money. Hence we reserve the right to temporarily add and remove products from discount codes and reward points to protect our business.

- We reserve the right to cancel any order found to be abusing the terms on this page. i.e. using discount vouchers to get more than intended off the purchase price. Whilst we do everything we can to avoid this, we do reserve this right to protect our business.


Welcome Offers (New Customers)

- New customers only. Existing customers can continue to save via our Reward Points loaylty scheme and weekly email offers.

- You must sign up to our marketing emails to receive your discount.

- Strictly limited to one discount per customer/household.

- You must log in or create an account to use this offer.

- Cannot be used on sale items or during certain sale events (e.g. black friday or our christmas and new year sale).

- From time to time we run special events where you can get a higher welcome discount by signing up to our emails. These offers are time limited and the codes can no longer be used after the set date.

- The welcome discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

- The discount can only be used as per the instructions on the success page (immediately after signing up).

- Certain items are excluded from discounts (including the welcome offer). These include, but are not limited to; Borderstone Bird Baths and Eastern Connection Bird Baths.

- We reserve the right to refuse any discount, remove reward points/benefits, or in extreme circumstances refuse to sell to anyone found to be abusing this scheme.


Email Offers

- Offers, gifts and discounts cannot be added to any order after the order has already been placed.

- Please follow the instructions in the email (or landing page if applicable) to get the specified offer.

- Certain offers may require you to take a secondary action to add your item. For example manually add the item via a popup after entering a discount code.

- When we advertise an offer with a specific weight, multiples or bundles are not included unless explicitly stated otherwise. For example if we offer a discount on a 12.55kg bag, the 25kg (2x 12.55kg) bundle is not included unless stated otherwise.

- All of our email offers include the dates and details for the offer. These are final.

- We do our absolute best to make sure that our emails go out with the correct information. If something slips through the net (for example an incorrect price), we will send out a follow up email to correct the price as soon as we can. Unfortunately we cannot honour any mistakes as these would be at the detriment of the business.

- Reward points cannot be used alongside reward points.

- We often do fantastic discounts via email. However if these leak out to discount sites we may need to pull offers early to protect those offers intended to be exclusive to our loyal customers.


Refer a Friend

- 200 reward points - equivelant to £10 will be awarded to both the referrer and referee (i.e. you and your friend).

- Your friend must register an account using the email address you sent the referral email to (by clicking the referral link).

- To receive your refer a friend bonus, you must have spent over £30 with us AND your friend must spend over £30 with us after signing up via your referral link.

- Your friend must spend a minimum of £30 in total with us in a single transaction for you and your friend to earn the £5 referral bonus.

- If using a discount code, your order must still be over the £30 threshold (if you use a voucher and this takes your order to under £30, it will not count. The total you pay must be over £30.).

- Once your friend has spent £30, your reward points will be deposited in your account after they have received their order (after they've taken delivery).

- You can apply your discount to a maximum of 50% of your order. e.g. if you have £10 earned through the refer a friend scheme and spend £15 with us, you'll only be able to apply £7.50 worth of points to your order. The other £2.50 can be applied to your next order. As long as you spend over £20, you can use the full amount.

- A bonus will not be awarded for accounts with the same postal address as your own, or similar email addresses. If we suspect an attempt at abusing the system, your reward points will be revoked.

- You cannot refer existing customers.

- We reserve the right to take action to recover goods that have been dispatched by us following any abuse of any of our discount/reward schemes and/or to adjust your account with us accordingly.

- Refer a Friend discounts cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount code.

- The below 'Reward Points' terms apply to reward points earned via our refer a friend scheme.

- We reserve the right to refuse or revoke a bonus. For example if a customer is found to have breached these terms in any way or in a way not listed here that we deem inappropriate.

- We reserve the right to withhold, change or withdraw our refer a friend scheme at any time.

- From time to time we run special promotions for referring friends. For example higher than usual rewards. These events are all time limited. Your friends must sign up and place their first order within the time frame specified. If they fulfill the criteria after the event then you will both still a get a bonus, but it will be the standard offer, not the promotional offer. To clarify - the promotional offer does not go off the time the referral was sent to your friend, but the time they fulfilled the criteria.

- We reserve the right to take action to recover goods that have been dispatched by us following any abuse of any of our discount/reward schemes and/or to adjust your account with us accordingly.

- The 'Reward Points' terms on this page apply to reward points earned via our refer a friend scheme. Please refer to the reward point section for more details on redeeming your points.

- We reserve the right to withhold, change or withdraw our refer a friend scheme at any time.


Reward Points

- The reward points scheme started on the 18 July 2018 - no purchases prior to this date will accrue reward points.

- Points earned will expire 1 year after they have been earned. We will attempt to notify you via email 30 days before they expire.

- There is NO cash alternative. The points do not, at any time become equivalent to cash and cannot be exchanged or transferred in any way.

- Discounts cannot be redeemed retrospectively after you have made a purchase.

- You must be logged in to earn and redeem your reward points. It is your responsibility to make sure you are. We reserve the right to refuse to add reward points retrospectively and they cannot be redeemed against an order if you forget to add them on.

- We reserve the right to prevent certain offers being used alongside reward points.

- We reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions, including withdrawal of this scheme at any time without notice or recompense.

- We reserve the right to remove items on promotion, in a sale or discounted from the Reward Points scheme (including the earning and spending of reward points).

- Reward points can only be used to cover up to 75% of the total cost of your order.

- Reward points cannot be used alongside discount codes. You must choose one or the other.

- We reserve the right to withdraw a members reward points at our discretion. This will only be done in extreme circumstances (for example if a member is found to be abusing the scheme or any other aspect of our site not necessarily related to reward points).


Bird Food Subscription Service (Regular Ordering Club)

- To enter into the bird food subscription service, you will need to download and complete the form on our website.

- You must subscribe a set number of months to qualify for the discount. Please refer to the bird food subscription page for details.

- By completing the subscription form, you agree that we may use your details to bill your card as stated in the form you send in (in the months you specify), until such time that you instruct us otherwise.

- Postage and packaging charges may apply. To avoid postage charges, we advise buying over £25 .

- Orders will typically be dispatched within 5 working days of the start of the month.

- Any changes to your order for the next month must be made before the end of the current month.

- Prices do go up as well as down due to market conditions and the amount you are billed will vary depending on these conditions.

- The price we charge will be 10% under the price listed on our website at the time of putting your order through each month (as long as you are eligible - see the subscription page for details on getting the 10% discount).

- We make no guarantees that your order will be in stock at the beginning of the month, although we will do what we can to make sure we have plenty of stock available. If we do not have stock available for an item you have ordered, we will contact you to let you know.

- Please refer to the Bird Food Subscription page for further guidance on specific terms such as details of the discount.

- Garden Wildlife Direct reserves all rights in its intellectual property rights. Copying is strictly prohibited.


Secure Shopping

Garden Wildlife Direct take the security of our customer's personal data very seriously. Industry best practices have been employed in the design and development of the Garden Wildlife Direct website. Independent Internet security specialists were used to validate the site security.

Steps taken to ensure security include: Once your order is completed all your data is securely transmitted to a Garden Wildlife Direct server that is not accessible by anyone via the Internet. Access to the Garden Wildlife Direct Servers containing sensitive information is prevented using firewall technology.

All customers are authenticated before payment details are captured. Internet users can browse the contents of the site, but cannot order from the site until they have registered. No ability to access customer account maintenance or to view customer order history will be allowed without the provision of a secure password by a customer.

All transmissions of sensitive information from a client's session to the Garden Wildlife Direct servers and vice–versa are secured using industry standard SSL encryption techniques.


Gift Cards

Gifts cards must be used on our website within one year of purchase. If you are buying a gift card as a gift to be sent to someone at a later date, we recommend buying it as close to the date as possible.

After one year, the gift card will expire automatically and become unusable. We have no obligation to remind or inform you of a gift card’s expiry and it is your sole responsibility to ensure that any balance is used in full prior to expiry.

Multiple gift cards can be applied to the same order.

You must login to redeem a gift card. You can view your balance on the same page you add it to your account under the 'Gift Card' section of your account (log in to view).

Gift cards must be applied at the basket stage of your order - they do not come off automatically. It is the customers responsibility to make sure they have added any gift cards to an order before checking out.

We accept no responsibility for gift card sent to the wrong email addresses. If you opt to send someone a gift card via the features on our website (rather than forward it on yourself) you accept responsibility for sending it to the right email address. If you have sent a gift card to the wrong email address, please contact us as soon as possible and we will cancel the gift card. However at our discretion we may be able to reissue the gift card if it has not been used.

You are solely responsible for the safe keeping and security of your gift card. We cannot be held responsible for the any balance lost on a gift card as a result of theft or fraud. We cannot be held responsible for any unauthorised use where the gift card number has become known to another party.

You must add a gift card to your account to use it. You can view its balance all from the 'Gift Card' section of your account (log in to view).

Certain items cannot be bought with gift cards, such as other gift cards.

Gift cards are exempt from any special offers and discounts. You cannot for example use the welcome discount to buy a discounted gift card.

Reward points cannot be earned on gift card use, or used to buy gift cards. Reward points are only earned on the order subtotal - since a gift card reduces the balance to pay, the number of points earned is relative to that balance. Unfortunately this is a technical limitation.

Reward points cannot be spent on the purchase of gift cards.

Gift cards are online virtual cards only. We don't currently offer the functionality to have these sent out to individuals in the post, but you could print off the email and do this yourself should you wish.

Gift cards cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash.

Gift cards can be used to pay for an entire order, or just part of one (in which case you can pay off the remaining balance via card or paypal). You can see the remaining balance in your account.

We may reject orders, or suspend gift cards that we suspect to have been bought fraudulently, or purchased in a way that circumnavigates these terms and conditions in order to protect our business.

If we refund an order that was placed using a gift card, the funds will return to that gift card which will become active again and can be used in the same way as in the original order.



By leaving a review either on Trustpilot or our own website, you give us consent to use that review in any way we choose in our marketing materials.

By uploading a photo to either our website, blog or Trustpilot you give us consent to use that photo in any way we choose in our marketing materials.

If we use your review or photo, we will provide attribution where possible. We will not use any personal identifiable information unless you request us to do so (e.g. if you are a photographer wanting credit).

An example of attribution may be '[review text] - Ralph, London'.



We reserve the right to cancel any order found to be abusing the terms on this page. Whilst we do everything we can to avoid this, we do reserve this right to protect our business.
