- Happy squirrels - The bag contents disappeared quickly as I refill Thea quire left feeder daily. So I have to assume that the squirrels enjoyed the contents. They normally just get peanuts. Taken off one star as it is an expensive treat.

Seems fine in the rain and weather. It hangs well and has never fallen just with the one screw. Only the squirrels seem attracted and can figure out how to get in (but hang it high). Might be better to make it from recycled plastic rather than wood (see pictures) So 5 stars for the design but 4 stars because wood can get chewed up (could make from recycled plastic ?). Some advice and findings: #1: Hang it high ! #2: Make sure the lower shelf is screwed in tighly or it will rotate #3: Do not forget to turn the lever holding the food bin from tipping (see photo #3). #4: Put a garden bin underneath to catch the bits (otherwise the pigeons come) #5: Squirrels do not like to share, but eventually one tires out and the others get a chance. I first hung it on my old fence and was lower than desired. The first night overnight some squirrel or possibly a rat chewed the one side including some of the copper roof (see the photos) !!! But the feeder stil works fine and whatever critter did this it has not gotten worse. When the fence was repaired I was able to hang it higher. It does seem to distract the squirrels away from the bird feeders and also away from digging in the garden or in my potted plants (not entirely but they are not so aggressive with the digging). It is fun to watch them munch away. The "Tom Chambers Squirrel Snacks Squirrel Food - 2kg" was a good choice.
